If the fiat money we use didn't got printed whole day for over 50 years in extreme proportions you would have been able to afford housing as well. So don't blame the people working their ass off and spending a life time for some gains. Blame the central banks and the government. As they are the ones gaining from your current misfortune

Again some angry hippie struggling to understand even the basic economy. Well I got news for him: you don't HAVE to rent anyone else's flat. Just buy your own. That way you're only paying the price of the flat plus the maintenance fees. Problem solved.

What's funny is, it's usually cheaper to buy a apartment and pay a morte than paying rent. So my question is: if you're complaining about not being able to afford artificially high rent, why not buy? Ah, maybe because part of the higher cost of renting is also due to the lack of commitment required.

Most landlords are people who's situation is just good enough to borrow to buy a rental in which they hope not to have to spend more than a few 100$ of their own money on top of rental income to pay every bills, in the hope of selling the house at the end of the morte, or keep renting it without a morte to pay back. Everyone just sees the rent and thinks "easy peasy $600 in his pocket every month" when there's $700 worth of expenses

Who said you're not allowed to do that? Anyone can buy an apartment with a loan and rent it out to cover the cost of the monthly payments + maintenance. Maybe even make a little profit. And in 30 years when the loan is paid off you'll have an extra apartment basically for free.
